High Center but still Keeping it Real

I have been home from working a walk weekend for 10 days now and I just can't seem to get off high center.  Seems like I can't get my energy level back.  So today, I looked at the sad state my blog page is in and felt sorry for it.  So instead of waiting for the projects to be finished, I decided that I would show you the "in progress" pictures.  You know keeping it real.  There is a wealth of "keeping it real" things to show you around here.  This ought to keep me posting for some time.

Meet Donny and his son Blaze.

Actually you have met them before but what the heck we'll just start from here.
Oh yea, by the way, Blaze is single, extremely talented and hard working and pretty eyes with looonng eye lashes that I think are extremely unfair on a boy.  I'm just sayin'!

This is the product that we went to school for earlier this summer.  Starts with cement, not just any kind of cement, this is special cement.

Really.
Blaze has figured out the high tech equipment to make the work more efficient.  Looks like some kind of scoop out of the feed store to me.

Anyhoo, you can start to get the picture here.

That's the back porch . . .

here is some pictures from the front.  This shows the color of the finished product.  Pretty huh.

Not flagstone ... flagstone look alike with red brick.
Our brand.

Nice house in the background, if I do say so myself.  I designed it.  With some help but still out of my head.  I used inspiration pictures to show the architect, designer and the builder what I wanted.  I learned one thing during the building project; know what you want!  Don't give options, tell them exactly what you want, find pictures to show to them.  It helps with communication.

And now for the Keeping It Real part:

Ta Da ...
Pitiful.
um-hum, that's right.
This courtyard is gonna be the death of me yet.  This will be the year of landscaping the courtyard!
It. will. be. pretty! !!

*sigh*  I feel better somehow.

And finally, this little guy.

Handsome, yes?  We have a little girl coming.  I have been waiting for three years to see him go up.  Patience + perseverance =  . . . something, I don't know what, he's finally up though.

And now for the front door.  Two things here - first the wreath is too small but that is new knowledge for me.  Thanks to the Nester I now know what I should be looking for when choosing a wreath for my front door.  Thank you to all the talented decorators here in blogland, I frequently stalk your sites.  I appreciate all that you teach.  Next time the wreath will be proportionate to the door.  AND # 2 the lack of the door bell - seriously, did you get a look at this house?  You would think we would have little things like that finished but NOOOOOO!

Funny little picture.

Thank you all for your patience with me while I get myself off high center.

See ya tomorrow for some more great picture posting of "Keeping it Real"
(could there be a tune to that?)

nah.

Basically I got nothing.  But I love my blog and blog land so I got to come up with something.  So, here it is.

I found this message painted on a sign and I thought it was worth keeping.

G
od didn't promise days without pain,
laughter without sorrow,
sun without rain.

But He did promise strength for the day,
comfort for the pain
and light for the way.

This is an encouraging message but check out these beautiful letters.  I found them at the Daily Drop Cap.  This girl is amazing.  She does all the letters by hand, I think that's what it says about her.
I love the alphabet and beautifully written words.  This is one thing that I am planning on working on.  My lettering with  paint or pen leaves a lot lacking.  About the best I could do is copy her, though.  I don't think this kind of stuff is in my head.  Go check her out.

God Loves You

I'm back.  What an amazing weekend.  The scripture that was used on this walk was Zeph. 3:17 and how true it is.  What an amazing God we serve.  He showed up and showed off.  We were all so blessed to be able to share His love and be in His presence.  It was such an outpouring of love that you couldn't help but be awed at how much God loves us.

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your god is with you.
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.

I noticed how this scripture is full of statements.  It is a promise of He is and He will.
He is MIGHTY.  (not itty bitty, but great big).
He will

be with you

save you,

 delight in you

quiet you

and

 rejoice over you.

He is your God and He is crazy about you.

We are loved by a big big God.

Hallelujah!

Praise ye Yahweh.

Thank you Lord Jesus.

More Craft Room Craftiness

Hey It's HolloWeen!  That's about as spooky as I get anymore.  I am looking forward to pictures of the grandkids costumes this year.  Here that D?  Most of you who are visiting with me here don't know my daughter "D" she guest blogged with me during American Idol last year.  She was so funny on the phone that I made her, I mean I asked her to post with me.  Anyway she is a very busy Mom, her sweet ones are Sarah, Caleb and baby Anah.  She told me last night that Anah is crawling, pulling up on her feet and she waves with her hand.  But all these things she does with a sense of humor.  She also said that when Anah wakes up in the morning she stands up in her crib and yells at her.  Like "hey" but not actually saying hey cause she is only 7 months old she just yells and it kind of sound like hey.  And it's more like Hey!

She is a fiesty one.  However not the first fiesty child my oldest child has.  Here are the first two.  You know Sarah.  this her little brother Caleb.  I took these pictures in early September, they love their bags for school.

Caleb is a sweet boy, but if you look deep in his eyes,

you can see it, fiesty!  He loves his sister, though.  He used to call her "my durah."

I guess this is when the picture taking started to get a little too much for "Durah"

Love those kids ...  fiesty, ooh there fun.

I had the pleasure of keeping this little one this week while her mom worked and look for a new sitter.

We had a day care scare.  I went to pick her up and found her sleeping under blankets.  On her head!  She was very hot and wet, like she had been sweating (I don't know if 2 month olds can sweat)  Made me cry and it made me mad!

So, I decided that I was going to keep her until she got old enough to tell us what was going on in her life.  Like say 6 or maybe 16.  Anyway life interrupted and it became apparent that I was not going to be able to keep her everyday.  And that's when help showed up.  I really do think that Kristen found a wonderful lady to keep her and only her, at her home.  I'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, I worked on this last night.
It was one of those things that just kept rumbling around in my head.
So, I'm off to the city to buy some more supplies.  Need to work out some of the details.

Buy for now, next week is going to be a super busy week for me, so I probably won't post anything.

Have a safe and fun weekend.

Love ya

From the Craft Room

The beginning

The inspiration

The results

Lettering is not my thing and you can tell that in the close up picture,
which I did not post (hehehe)
I am going to hang it with ribbon but I can't attach that yet due to the room it will be hanging in, I need to be there to measure just how much ribbon it will need.
