New Music Monday

Here is my idea for Monday, review new music, yea and it's got a catchy title, "New Music Monday". Sounds way better than "Book Review Tuesday" but also a good idea.

Some new music to me and an album I am loving (I know that date s me but I like to say album) is Kenny Chesney's "Lucky Old Sun". The music is so nice. I love the tempo and the easy feeling the songs have.

It starts out with a nice duet with Dave Matthews, and I am loving the second song "Way Down Here", it has some catchy phrasing and one of my favorite instruments, a saxaphone solo at the end . Oh yea, I can feel the Carrabean breeze from here. The last song is another duet, this time with Willie and some great guitar riffs. It would be easier to say what I don't like and not that it is a bad song just not one I want to listen to over and over and over like I do the others and that is "Ten With A Two". That's all I'm gonna say 'bout that.

Check it out, grab a lawn chair, glass of iced tea (or whatever suits you) watch the sun set, ah that sounds so nice.

we picture {this}

Good morning to all. I have been on a journey of adding stamps to my blog site this week. The latest one is "we picture {this}". It is about photography, one of favorite things, ever. I know that I am not up to their standards, but how else do you learn? Right. So, I am going to follow along with these moms and see if I can learn to be a better photographer.

Click on their button to see all the beautiful, gorgeous pictures they have.

I'm thinking that I need to post a picture here myself, knowing that I am in no way qualified to be in their company but what the heck, here I go.

Camera: Canon Reblel XT
Mode:
Exposure:
Aperture:
Focal Length:
ISO Speed:

So, that's all I got, this is an older picture that I turned on the black and white feature. The month of March was b&w photos, next month I will follow the instructions and have all the info.

I think I better find a friend with photography knowledge and study up.
Thank you for your time. I'll do better next time.

The Utilmate Blog Party; 5 Minutes for Mom

So the deal is, these two sisters had a brilliant idea and they are having this HUGE party to connect Moms, grandmoms, moms to be, moms trying to be (I have a special place in heart for you) single gals, and even Dad's through this wonderful, fun, sweet world called blogging (at least my experience has been sweet).

I'm guessing that we are suppose to introduce ourselves, so Hello, I am a wife to RS, a mom who has raised her three and has had the privilege to be a part of three step children's lives and I am the proud grand mother to 5 with two on the way, baby Grace will be here next week (ooh I'm so excited to meet her) and one that will be here in August.  I am in love with Jesus the most, I guess I should have mentioned Him first.  I love taking pictures of the kids, the family, animals, nature and old stuff and posting them here with writings about what is happening in my life and those around me at the time.

Also, there are gifts.  Today is the last day to enter, nothing new for me, I am always running behind so I'm not asking for any gifts, I just want to meet new people and learn about others. Thanks for the opportunity to to visit your site.  I hope you feel at home here.  Click on the button on the side and heck it out for yourself. (or check it out, you have no idea how many times I have to edit these things, ahgg.) (Also I need a dictionary on how to spell words that are just sounds?!)  See ya.

Pray for Clay

Family and friends, I am asking you to add this little boy and his family to your prayers. His name is Clay David Fite and he was burned February 14. He has been through 7 surgeries since. Check out his update blog and go to the very first entry to get the story of what happened.

There are so many who need healing and restoration from the throne of Grace that sometimes the task seems daunting. Fortunately God doesn't ask much from us, just that we believe and trust Him.  In the face of extreme circumstances He is the peace that surpasses understanding.  In the midst of a raging storm, with God there is peace.

Thank you Father for your peace.  Thank you Father that you are the great Physician, you know Clay and his family, Father you alone hold them in the palm of your hand.  Father I stand in agreement with all that are asking for your comfort, peace, wisdom and healing for this family.  Thank you Lord Jesus.  Amen

Thank you prayer warriors.

American Idol Top 10

I am so excited, I look forward to this show every week, I think I 'm sick with idol fever, terrible.  I love Motown, I need to add some of this music to my collection.  This is gonna be good.  Simon's more comfortable in his black t-shirt, much better.  Alexis Grace, yea I wish she was still here.  Megan or Scott should have been the ones to go home.  But that's how we roll.
D--Scott needs to have gone home last week,  He's stubborn.  He doesn't want to work with the judges.
SS-- three girls and all the boys.  Wow , Lil looks great again.
D-- Yea, there's only three girls.  D's honey, "C", is joining us tonight, welcome C.

Matt Giraud - "Lets Get It On"
SS--I love his piano skills.  Oh cool he's getting up.  I love his voice.  I will buy his music!  yes sirreee.  I can't wait to hear more from him.
D--Good as usual, I really like him, he's one favorites.
The judges said, Randy "Yo, Yo, Matt you worked it out!"  Kara, " Just now getting comfortable"  (SS--I'm thinking he set back, watched, took it all in and made his move when the time was right.  Yea that's what I think.  D- He reminds me of Elliot Yamin)

Kris Allen - "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You"
SS--Kris blew me away.  He's so cute and so talented.  That's how good I thought it was.  I like this guy!  Sweet.  I will buy his music too.
D--He did good.  I was a little distracted, I didn't really get to focus the way I wanted to.
The judges, Kara "Here's the thing, you made it your own" Paula, "?" Simon, "Smart,  you got your swaggard on"  Randy, "hit your zone, it's all good baby".  woo-hoo, oh yea, I'm liking the judges for him.

Scott McIntyre - "You Can't Hurry Love"
SS--RS has joined us, he says, "he's not very good, but they won't vote him off because he gets the sympathy vote, he could be worked with and made decent.  He doesn't  have the voice".
Ss--Ditto. (my man is soo smart)
D--Big sigh, I don't know, I hate to say it I don't really like him that much.
The judges, Paula "I love you, you know that, right" Simon, "Oh dear, how much more can we take" Randy, "I don't agree but. . ."  Kara, "here's the thing, saying something positive, then the big But"  SS--Poor guy, he's taking it hard.  I feel for him.  D--I thought he took it hard, don't you?  He shows his emotion on his face.

Megan Joy - "For Once In My Life"
RS--She'd drive me crazy, I don't like the flat shoes,
Ss--(Ought oh, I wonder if he's gonna hate my flats when I pull them out of the closet?) I think the only thing I have to say about her is, she's in serious trouble.  I agree that the song got control of her.
D--I think she's going home.  I was trying to figure out if she had shoes on?
C--Simon's gonna tear her up.
The judges, Randy, "train wreck" Kara, "it was all over the place" Paula, "your beautiful"  (SS-I think Paula has a hard time with telling someone bad news because she got nervous.)  Simon, "Oh dear, Oh dear, Oh dear, it was horrible"

Anoop Desia - "Ooh Baby Baby"
SS--I love this song, one of my all time favorites.  He did it so pretty.  Is it ok to say a guy's song is pretty?
D--I thought he did good.  All the guys are good, it's kind of hard.
the judges, Simon "sleepy, great vocals, two good weeks in a row"  Randy, "serious, Anoop dawg, turn it up!'  (RS-- what did he just say?  SS-- he liked it, he thought it was good.)

Michael Sarver - "Ain't Too Proud To Beg"
SS--Sorry Michael, I don't think it worked for you tonight.  RS-is that the oil field guy?
D--I was in the kitchen, I heard him, I like him but I don't think he can compete.  Some of the guys are just so good.  I don't think he's on the same level as the other guys.  Maybe this is an off week for me.  I couldn't get into the show. (Note, this time next week D will be holding her little Anah Grace)
the judges, (Paula, just let Simon talk for you)  Simon, "dose of reality, your not good enough"  (harsh but true)  Randy, "R&B chops, but you made it corny"  Kara, "looking for an artist, make me think 'now that was hot' ".
SS--I don't think Michael is going to be here next week.

Lil Rounds - "Heat Wave"
RS-She yells.
SS--I'm not liking her performance again!  Darn it, I really want to, but . . . by golly, the husband is right, she is yelling.
D--I like her, but she's not doing anything for me.  I want to like her, I really do, I want to love her.  She needs to be doing big songs, or like edgy cool.  I thought she did a good job, I mean she can sing, but she will have to make it happen from now on to make it to the finals.
SS--she still gets the best dressed award.
the judges, Simon, "no moment, you need a Moment" I agree, we are all looking for her to blow us away.

Adam Lambert - "Tracks of My Tears"
SS--I'm liking the group he has on stage with him.   This looks interesting.  Loving the guitar, and a cello, who is this guy?  OK, confession time, I went and watched it again because last night I was sitting in judgement of him and that's just not right, so please forgive me.  He was really good, he looked nice, he sounded great, it was the performance of the night. He deserved the standing ovation and to get it from the song writer, wow.  This week I am sticking by my prediction this guy will win this competition. RS says, "this dude horrible" what can I say, he's my honey and I love him.
D--Oh my , he's like handsome, kind of.  He looks normal.  As soon as I saw him and he looked normal, I thought oh my.  I loved it, I loved It. I did. I loved it!  I like the normal Adam, I like the laid back better.  I thought it was really good.

Danny Gokey - "Get Ready"
RS--He's the best of the night.
SS--Yea, I'm loving it.  I love his voice, he even has Kara dancing.  Good solid performance.
D--Aahhh, I wasn't like loving it, loving it this week, it didn't blow me away.  He's gonna make some hot Christian music when he gets done, right.  Did he wear glasses?  Did they match his clothes?
D--I have to go charge my phone in the car.  Oh my, I'm auggg.
SS--What?
D-- I'm sooo fat.
SS-- Your majorly pregnant, darling, next week it will be ok.

Alison Iraheta - "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone"
RS--She's 16!  I can believe she's 16, she still looks it.  Wow she's got a voice!
SS--um hum, yes she's bringing it on home.  Great job.  I loved her performance tonight.  Much better than last week.  Yea, good job.  I'm so proud for her.
DD--Dude!  It was good, it was awesome.  Shes' good.  She's got that real smoky, raspy voice.  She isn't going home.
SS--I agree with the judges, you can't teach that.  You go girl.

The top performance for the night?  Hard to say, Adam brought his magic, he has major skills and used them just right.  I think he had was the best, Matt still stands out to me, Kris also and Danny, man this is gonna get tough between the guys.  I think it's easy to see whose in trouble, it will be either Michael or Megan going home tonight.  Lil and Scott are in the bottom for for me.  They will hang on but I don't see her really making it to the finals like I thought she would in the beginning.  I'm thinking something is happening to her confidence.

What do you think?  Who's your favorite, who did you feel had the top performance and who do you think is going home?  Check out Boomama's site for more American Idol talk.

Three Post in One, I'm Playing Catch Up

Baby Watch x 2

I told you we were on "baby Grace" watch, right.  But, did I tell you we are on baby " T2" watch? Yep, T2 will be here in August. My youngest and her cutie hubby are expecting their first. We have been working on names and they let me play. My kids are so sweet to listen to some of my suggestions.  I helped Danya name her first two, aka D (to all my AI readers). Pretty babies, pretty names.
So, T2's name, if it's a boy, could be . . . ah I wonder if I have permission to give the name away? I better check before I write. I want them to keep me in the loop, so I better keep the trust. We may find out the sex in two weeks so we will know which name the baby will be getting. Sorry guys, if you were on the edge of your seat, just waiting for the names they have chosen. Maybe this is a stay tuned tease?

Who's Your Favorite Singer?

No American Idol tonight? Oh and I am so spoiled. I think I am addicted to this show. I begin waiting for the next season in the fall. I started watching the year Carrie Underwood won. My Mom kept talking about it, so I tuned in and caught the end of that season. I can't sing a lick, though, and that's one of the things I hope God will give me in heaven. The ability to sing. To be able to open your mouth and let out all that emotion must be the best form of expression there is, of course, that is without being asked to close your mouth. I think I heard God say one time, "It's ok, honey you can just listen". I've read that in heaven we have perfect bodies. Perfect bodies, means perfect vocal cords, means jerriann gets to sing to Jesus. Oh yea, I'm so excited.

And on a little side note, I think Carrie's rendition of "I Told You So" is the really good. Or as Randy said last week, dope. Dawg. She is seriously becoming one of my favorites. And that doesn't come easy with me. You have to have solid albums to convince me to put my money down.  I tried to put a youtube video here of her singing this song but I think I may have gotten her new song (even better) Home Sweet Home.
So I am not sure I have just one favorite on American Idol this year.  I like Danny and Matt and who's that cute guy with the cute wife who sang a Willie song last week?  Oh what's his name, oh yea, Kris Allen.  And of course Anoop.  Those are my favs.  How about you who is/are your favorites?

Road Trip for the Bull(s)

Last week, I took a road trip with my husband. Ooooh, we drove so long. I love being with him and going on these trips but ... it takes the umph right out of me. We left on Sunday morning and drove forever hours to central Nebraska. When we got there we drove around town checking out one of my favorite things, old houses, ate dinner and tucked in by 9:00 pm. Yea, we're old(er). Up by 6 the next morning and on the road to the ranch that was having the bull sale. While we were there we found out that we needed to go to another bull sale the next day so off we go.  We checked into out hotel, walked through the bull pens, ate dinner, and tucked in by 9:00. No comment. The sale started the next day at 1:00 pm, so we had time to kill. I found this old truck and took a few photos.

We left later that afternoon, drove to Salina Kansas and stopped for the night. Here's were it got fun(ner) (that's because I was having fun already). Anyway. We went to one of those restaurants that cooks on the griddle at your table.  Two  young couples were seated with us and they turned out to be soldiers from Ft. Riley, which is were Jeremy was stationed at.  I thought that was way cool. We enjoyed their conversation and the time we spent with them. We thanked them for their service to our country the best way we knew how and left quite satisfied and full. We left Kansas the next morning and finished the last eight hours of our journey home Wednesday.  Just a side note, he never lets me drive so at the end of our trips I am ready to climb out of that car and run the rest of the way home.
And that's not the end of it. Waiting here for us were three of our grand babies. Miss Sarah, Mr. Tyler, and Mr. Caleb, yep it was spring break after all. So we finished the week out playing soccer in the back yard, watching them play in the water, feeding the cows, we drove the boats in tank and put in a little sling-shot practice.

You go girl.

Jumped back in the car on Saturday and drove Sarah and Caleb home, spent the night in another motel and drove back on Sunday.

Monday, I was fit for nothing.

All that to say this, I haven't blog in a while. Should I worry that you won't be here when I get back? I hope not. One of my favorite blogs has a post on what makes a good site to follow. Consistency is one of the reasons people stick, transparency, being real and relevant were some of the others. I don't think I am much of any of these, but I try. So what do you think? What are your favorite things to read, what keeps you coming back to your favorite sites?

I love you girls and guys. Let me know what you think.

Top 12, oops 11 - American Idol

Hey, it's Danya (D) and me (SS).  The honey was pining away for me to go on a drive in the country with him, so we took a four day drive and just got back in this afternoon.

I know you guys were just not waiting for us but, hey we have fun and so we wanted join in the party.

D, anything you got to say before we start with the contestants?  No. O.K.  So, I guess this walking out on the stage thing is gonna stick.  I thought Simon looked uncomfortable, I don't think he was for this idea, he should have worn a different shirt.
Danya, "do you know who I love right now?  Jamey Johnson,  You Should Have Seen It In Color.  I Love his voice."
SS, yea, I have that cd, I really like this song but the cd is a little ahead of me, I should probably give it some air time.  Sometime artist are just ahead of me and I have to listen for a while before I get it.

OK, so here we go:

Michael Sarver - "Ain't Goin Down 'Til The Sun Comes Up"
SS--who can complain, he didn't miss any words.  I just like him, I'm rooting for the oil field Texas boy.  Ooh, scathing, Simon!  I do agree that it is hard to understand all the words but I have heard that in other songs.  I hope he makes it through to the next round.
D--I didn't see him, but after watching the replay I don't think it was that great.

Allison Iraheta - "Blame It On Your Heart"
SS--I love Patty Loveless. She has some mighty perfect pipes, I don't know. . . Patty, pure perfect, Allison, raw energy.  She did good, she rock and rolled that song, it was good.
D--Alison,  I like her, her voice, she 's really good, she's the best 16 year old that has been on the show in a long time.  I like Paula's advice for her to show her vulnerable side.  Yea Patty Loveless, she don't get no respect, where is she these days?

Kris Allen - "To Make You Feel My Love"
SS--I like this kid, I thought he did a good job . . . yea the judges love him!!
D--I like him, he did a good job.
(ought oh, we both had the same things to say, why weren't we more impressed?  Oh how I wish we had more)

Lil Rounds - "Independence Day"
SS--oh no, not Martina Mc Bride, . . . well maybe she can pull it off.
OH say it ain't so . . . no I don't like her performance, again!  This is the second week in a row that I have not been overly impressed with her.  She looks great, beautiful, great stage presence, I think she get the most beautiful award for the night, so far. I seem to be waiting for something more from her.  Maybe I am expecting too much.  I think she stays, in fact last week I went out on a limb and predicted her to be number two.  I may be changing my mind, can we do that on this here AI post party?
D-- she did ok, she wasn't my favorite but she deserves to stay.  Martina is special, I never really thought she was a great great singer but I notice that when people try to sing her songs they can't pull it off.

Adam Lamber - "Ring Of Fire"
SS--is he like a modern day Elvis?  I mean there something about him in the eyes, reminds me of Elvis.  I don't think Randy Travis' wife thought to much of this rendition.  I would really like to hear what Johnny Cash would say about this.  It felt dirty to me.  If I were a smoker, I would need a cigarette right now.  Whew, I just had to pause it and go outside, man, that just felt dirty, that was just wrong.
D--oh my, I don't know what to say about that, uh, a little scary.  Bleep. . . bleep,(I can't write that on my blog, this is a family show)  I like Johnny Cash!! I don't think you should mess around with Johnny Cash!  He don't know nothing about walking the line, walkin the line is personal, you just don't!  And the tongue thing is starting to freak me out a little bit.  You shouldn't mess with Johnny Cash.  Joaquin Phonix? what happened to him.  People can not act and do music.
SS--Theatrics and Johnny Cash, who would have thought it.
D--I think he made a lot of people mad, I don't know, I don't know, well, lets move on, who was next?

Scott McIntyre - "Wild Angels"
SS-Why do Paula and Simon always fight when they are critiquing Scott?  This is my favorite performance of him, I felt like he was soaring in the song, I like his arrangements.  I wasn't surprised to hear that he really puts in a lot of time working on the arrangement.
D--He did better than last week, I agree with the judges, he needs to do something different, maybe a different type of song, he does sound the same.

Alexis Grace--"Jolene"
SS--First off I love this song, I just think Dolly's voice is pure and clean and I don't know if Alexis can sing this song and it be ok for me.  I think there is some big vocal shoes to fill doing Dolly's Jolene, but that's just me.  Anyway, yea, she did good . . I think she has stage presence. She looks like a star to me, kind of perfect and I must say I don't hear Dolly, I think she made it her own.  Very good.
D--"I like her, she's little bitty and I just think she's cute. Of course I am going to have this baby in two weeks so,  I'm just saying.

SS-- I'm feeling a little uncomfortable with the contestants talking back to the judges, I think they should really be careful with that.  I'd stick my foot in my mouth if it were me.  I always hate doing that.

SS-I must be going out of my mind but I think Paula is making some sense this year, yea, so she got drunk last week and slurred a few words and made no sense, but she has made some this year and that to me is just good.

Danny Gokey - "Jesus Take The Wheel"
SS--was that a white jacket?  Did I just see a white jacket go by?
Oh it is a white jacket, not liking the jacket, does that make his butt look big?  OK his glasses do match, ( I have a friend who is a glasses fanatic and her glasses match her outfits, too.  Always makes me kind of jealous, I just can't seem to get that together) AND his shoes, AND the stage!  I love him, though, but I am not crazy about this performance.  Oh it must just be me, cause the crowd is lovin' it, hmm, must be better in person.  His smile is reminding me of vince Gill, I do love Vince Gill, he's the best.
D-- yea, the jacket made him look a little full.  I like him, I thought he did a really good job on the song, I think he was a little slow on the beginning but once he got to the chorus, his vocals really soar.
SS--yea but I agree with Randy, that's just not good enough you have to get me in the beginning and keep my interest all the way though.

SS--OK, I take it back, she's not making any sense, must have had a nip during the commercial.  What is going on with the judges this year, Paula and Simon seem to be agreeing more and Randy and what's her name, oh yea Kara, I called her diana last week, sorry, seem to be on the same team.

Anoop Desai - "You Were Always On My Mind"
SS--oh yea, now that's some feeling singing.  Definitely his best for him so far.  Beautiful.
D-- Anoop pulled it up.  I was not excited to see him coming up next but then after his performance I thought he was serious, really good.
The judges said, "tender, honest, amazing, sweet vocals (I thought that was right on) ( see she does make some sense) and "from zero to hero", oh that Simon. he just has a way with words.

Megan Joy - "Walkin After Midnight"
SS--oh no, say it ain't so. . .Walking After Midnight, that's scared ground she was walking on.  I didn't. I closed my eyes to see if I could, but I just didn't.  So where was the Corkery?
DD-- Megan the one with the tattoos, HAHA, I thought she did good, I feel sorry for her that she was sick, but her songs are all the same, one dimensional, either you love them or you don't.  I can't see her lasting to long.

Matt Giraud - "S0 Small"
SS--oh man, I like this guy, he may be my new favorite guy.  This one is the "dark horse" I think he keeps getting better and better.
DD- I love him He's my favorite, OH MY, Oh He's SO Awesome, from Michale Buble to Justin Timberlake, yea I'm loving this guy.  He just so cute, I like him a lot.

In summary, who do you think will go home
SS - Megan.
D - The rough neck or Megan.

Thanks for coming by, check out BooMama's blog for more AI part fun.
until next week, see ya.

Fashion Friday, Do I Need a Make Over? Staging Your Comeback

I found this book on the shelf at Target.  As I was waiting for my daughter, I began to look through it's pages and then I knew it!  It was a ZINGER!  You know, one of those things that you must own.  It goes like this:
if I leave the store without it,
I will go home and think about it,
then I will have to come back and find it,
if it's not there I will regret it,
and whine about it,
forever.
Girls, that takes lots of hard shopping time to hone a feeling like that.  This is not a superficial thing, zingers, it is a deep knowing.  In a piece of clothing, it is knowing that you will love. it. and wear. it. ever time it's clean.  Those are the thing I buy.  My motto is,  "It. Must. Be. A. Zinger"!  (enough with the periods already)

"Staging Your Comeback" is a beauty book for women over 45.  I need this book.  Somewhere between raising children and getting them raised, I lost touch on fashion and how to wear it and also on make-up.  Things are just droopy now. You know, it was easy as a young person, everything looked great, didn't need much make up, now, not so much.  So, I stayed away from it.  I have to admit, however, that I got bored with my looks and let it suck the joy out of my day.  I quit putting on makeup because I wasn't working outside the home anymore and no one was going to see me, right.  As it turns out I always ended up in town and running into people I knew.  I'm not saying that I got depressed, because I didn't, but I wasn't looking my best and that at the end of the day, it's just no fun.  I found that every time I went into the office at my kids high school, my friends would say, (yes I went there often enough to have friends) "you look like you don't feel good, or you look tired".  No, I feel great and I am well rested, I just don't have makeup on!  I want to have fun and look good doing it. That may be vain but it is truth.

The first quiz was on discovering your image.  Ok I did something that could be dangerous, I asked my husband the first question.  Here it is,
1.  If you were given on honest compliment, it would be: (honey, what would it be?)
a.  You look like you have it all together. (he knows that's not true, no chance of that)
b.  You are so comfortable to be with. ( I've heard that one before, but they were just being nice)
c.  You're very sweet and kind. (um, who wants that one)
d.  You are stunning! (I'm feeling a buzz here)
e.  You're quite unique and interesting. (Yep, I could do that one)
f.  What a sexy woman! (Usetobe)

His answer, I don't know, I guess, you're sweet and kind?  My face froze with one eyebrow up.  The realization registers in his mind that that was not what I was looking for.   Honestly I wanted, at that moment, to hear You. Are. Stunning!  Your sweet and kind felt like being told you have a great personality when the guy doesn't want to go out with you anymore.  What I wanted to be hear is your pretty, or beautiful or even stunning!  I've never been told that I am stunning but who wouldn't want to be told that by their man?

O.K. so I take the quiz and it says that I am a Dramatic.  What!  A DRA-MA-TIC!  I'm not a Dramatic!  In a room by myself, I hear the words coming outta my mouth.

Well, maybe a bit dramatic.  I thought I would be a causal or a classic.  For heaven's sake I wear nothing but jeans and t-shirts.  How can that be dramatic?  Who am I?  What does a dramatic do?  How do blue jeans be dramatic?

I know these aren't jeans but the shirt is!

Funny thing because the first buzz word for a dramatic is stunning.  I wanted to be called stunning and then, when I was, it didn't feel right.  So I closed the book.

Fast forward to today, I decided to give it another try and re-took the quiz.  I am a classic with a side of casual/dramatic.  Whew, that was close.  Now that feels more comfortable.  And the buzz words; elegant (yes in jeans) tasteful (again jeans) understated(definately jeans), easy care, natural, and stunning!  Go figure, God is so good.

So, I decided if your going to do this thing, watch what the "big" girls do and copy them,  So in tribute to BigMamma, I am doing a fashion Friday make-over gig.  Follow me as I discover how to walk through this maze called fashion, on an over 50 body and a slightly out of touch grandmother.

Baby Grace Watch

Anah Grace is almost here and I can hardly wait!  She will be number seven for Pappaw and Nanoo.  Right now March 31 st is the date unless Mom goes into labor by herself.  Which she is quick to remind me she never does.  But hey, she might!

Big sister Sarah and big brother Caleb, oh boy, these kid's world is about to change.  They have no idea, but this look on their faces may be one we see a lot more of.

This dish towel she is holding says, Mommy's sippy cup.  yea, this and a bath full of hot water and a lock door.  At least that is what got me through some of those years.  But of course all three kids were at the door asking me when I was coming out.

The hostesses, Emily, Kristen and Jayce.  Thank you ladies.  It was a very nice baby shower.

Top 13 American Idol

Hey there, Salty Sister here and oldest daughter "D" has joined me.  We are ready to join in on the AI post, thanks BooMama.
SS-Michael Jackson, what are they doing?
D- no comment on that.  Although I like the changes the judges are making.  It sounds like they are going to be a part of the decision making.
SS--Lil Rounds, "The Way You Make Me Feel" love her story, I think she will be in finals. I didn't really like her performance tonight, almost liked it.  What's wrong with me? Angels?!!  What?? Simon was right on here.
D-I like her She's going to go a long way. Voted.
SS- Scott McIntyre, "Keep the Faith" - I  liked him with the piano, it was better.  But I don't know, not one of my favorites.  I think he will stick around though, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he left, we'll see.
D-- Scott, ditto.
SS-Danny Gorkey,  "PYT" I loved it! Wow, he brought it home, Exclamation Mark!  I think he was better than Lil tonight.  Judges comments, brilliant, white guy with soul, I loved that they saw joy, that was a good moment for me.  This is the first time I have ever wanted to down load a song from American idol.  Voted.
D--Danny Gorkey, I liked him, he can't dance but he is funny, he's cute the way he was dancing.
SS-Michael Sarver - "You Are Not Alone" - I think he's a handsome guy, love his vocals tonight.  Definitely a ballad guy, I hope he sticks around.
D--I like him, I don't think he's going home, I forgot him, though, when they were showing the replays I realized that I had forgotten him.  Who wants to hear a slow Michael Jackson song?
SS--Jasmine Murray, "I"ll Be There" - So cute, she had stage presence, definitely the best dressed for the night.  I think she will stay.  She strikes me as one who will improve the longer she is there.  Song choice for her is key.
D-- Yea, she needs to sing different songs, that are younger.   I think she's really good, but you just don't sing big songs, you just don't.  Because then Randy will tell you "it's was just alright with me, it was just alright", because he has recorded that with Mirah Carey.
SS--Kris Allen, "Remember The Time" - I liked his performance, I could see me listening to him.  Voted.
D- I think he is so cute!  He could be the dark horse.
SS--Allison Iraheta, "Give In To Me" -  umm OK.  she'll stay, I do like her deep, raspy voice.  She's only 16"?
D--I love her dude, she's like Kelly Clarkson with more edge.  I love her.
SS--Anoop Desai, "Beat It" - oh sorry dude, I agree completely with the judges here.  Not so much, won't be back next week.
D--I like Anoop, he just made a bad decision, what Paula said, you just don't sing "Beat It".
SS--Jorge Nunez, "Never Can Say Goodbye" -  good voice, the song was just tired, old, I did find myself looking for Burt.  He may be going home.
D- Jorge-Nice guy, wrong song. What's with the eyebrow, somebody needs to fix 'um for him.
SS--Megan Joy Corkrey, "Rockin Robin" -  I just like her name Joy, she's a cutie, don't like tattoos, but that's just me, I hated the song but she pulled it off.  I think she has great vocals and she is unique but not one of the top vote getter's.
D-  The deal is she has a really cool voice, a unique sound to her voice and she could have a hit right now, but I think that once we get over all the Norah Jones vibe . . . I just don't see her with a long run.
SS- Adam Lambert, "Black & White" - Is it just me or what, but I am a little afraid of this guy.  I hate black finger nails, sorry, I'm an old folgy.  But, he can sing, whew boy, really good.  Anyway, he'll make it to the finals, but probably not an artist I will listen to.
D--Haha,  I like him, he's over the top but I like him, he's got some mad skills.  He reminds me of the rockers back in the day crazy high screaming...
SS--Matt Giraud,"Human Nature" -  I like this guy,  what was wrong with him though, he didn't look like he liked his performance.  I hope he doesn't get down on himself.  At this point I would buy his music.
D--I love him, I Loved him!  I think he's just really talented.  He's got that bluesy, soul thing, I like white people that sing with soul, I 'm just glad they put him through, he is like Justin Timberlake.
SS--Alexis Grace, "Dirty Diana" - I waited all night for her.  She is one of my favs, um must be hard being last, so much to prove to put you over the top here.
D--I like her but she over did it a little bit, I do like her alot.  She will be back.
So Big D what do you think who's, out?  My prediction is Anoop and Jorge.  With Jasmine and Megan on the bottom of the votes.  I'm gonna go out on alimb here and say, the top three in the finals are; Lil, Danny and Adam.  With the top two between Lil and Adam.  Adam brings it home.
D--I think Anoop and  Jorge needs to go home.  Everybody is so good, they really all are so good.  I don't know it's going to be hard to judge.  I guess thats where the Randy, Paula, Simon and Diana come in at.  It will be interesting to see.
